Terms & Conditions

By joining a class at Ellie Maye Belly Dance, you are acknowledging that you have read, understood, and accept our Terms and Conditions.

  • Payment must be received at least 1 week prior to class commencement. Failure to do this, or make alternative arrangements with the instructor, will result in the student forfeiting their place in the class.

  • Only enrolled students are permitted in the dance studio during classes.

  • Children are not permitted in the studio under any circumstances.

  • You are asked to dance barefoot, in socks, or in dance/jazz shoes/sneakers.

In the event that the usual teacher is unavailable

  • Ellie Maye Belly Dance reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher or cancel/reschedule classes with minimal notice.

  • If your regular class is rescheduled, we will offer an alternative option at a later date.

    • We reserve the right to schedule makeup classes outside of the specified day or time of your original class booking.

Cancellations & Refunds
You may cancel your enrollment at any time.

Please choose carefully, as we do not give refunds in the following circumstances:

  1. You simply change your mind or fail to attend classes.

  2. Your work, family, health, or social commitments mean that you cannot attend enrolled classes.

A partial refund may be offered in the following circumstances:

  1. You have paid your term fees in full prior to the start of term but wish to cancel your enrollment.

  2. In this case, we will refund your fees paid, minus a $20 administration fee.

Please inform us in writing (email is fine) at least 14 days prior to the start of the first class.

Transfers:

  • Once the term has commenced, term payments are strictly non-transferable to another term or another student in the school year.

Sharing your membership is not permitted:

  • Term payments are linked to one enrolled student only and cannot be shared among multiple students during the term. Specifically, your enrolment and payment constitutes a single person membership for the duration of the Term in which you have paid to attend. We do not allow un-enrolled people to attend your class on your behalf for any reason.

Studio Etiquette and COVID-19

  • Please practice social distancing at all times

  • Feel free to wear a mask if preferred

  • If you are unwell, please do not come to class

  • Ellie Maye Belly Dance reserves the right to discontinue face to face classes and move to an online platform at any time and at our discretion to ensure the safety of our staff and customers

Health and Safety

  • Belly dancing is a low-impact, fun and safe form of exercise. However, as with all forms of exercise you should observe a few simple precautions:

    • The ‘warm up’ at the start and the ‘cool down’ at the end of class are compulsory. These are important and are designed to prevent injury; to fail to join these parts of the class is to do so at your own risk.

    • If you have a pre-existing injury, or if you fall pregnant, you should consult your doctor before beginning/continuing classes. These may not prevent you from participating in classes, but it is recommended that you seek medical advice and inform your teacher of any such condition/s.

    • Your participation and attendance in any class at Ellie Maye Belly Dance is at your own risk.

Photos and Videography

  • Photography and videography are not permitted during Ellie Maye Belly Dance classes without prior consent from both the teacher and the students present.

By joining classes at Ellie Maye Belly Dance, you are acknowledging that you understand that the Terms and Conditions of Ellie Maye Belly Dance are binding and that you accept responsibility for your own well being during classes held by Ellie Taylor and her representatives.
