Our Classes

Learn to Belly Dance (Beginners & Basic Technique)

Wednesdays 6:30 - 7:30pm @ Studio Fit 2533, Kiama

This low-impact class is for those just starting out, or those who prefer a slightly slower pace. We will focus on posture, technique, and simple combinations. You can expect to drill fun, basic belly dance movements, and learn about the foundations of belly dance. Choreographies will be simple and relatively easy to follow. Suitable for ages 15+ and all fitness levels.

Intermediate Level Class

Wednesdays 7:30 - 8:30pm @ Studio Fit 2533, Kiama

This class will be faster-paced and involve layering moves on top of basics. You can expect to continue to work on drills and posture, and improve isolation movements essential to belly dance. Choreographies will be more complex in this class, but still lots of fun.

To join the Intermediate class, it is recommended that:

  • You have recently been attending beginner belly dance classes for at least 6 months

  • You feel reasonably confident with the basics of belly dance technique including correct posture, hip and shoulder accents, shimmies, figure 8s, undulations, turns, etc.

  • You have performance experience

  • You are committed to practicing regularly
